Start "Outlook Express" from the
"Start" button located at the bottom left of your computer.
Use the mouse cursor and click on Start > Programs >
Outlook Express
Please Note: A "Click" is a single LEFT mouse click
unless the instructions specifically state to do a "RIGHT click".
Please Note: Outlook Express will not work for the FREE Yahoo! mail
accounts. Yahoo! requires a fee to use Outlook Express "pop" access.
If you would like to have a "pop" account, you can order a Personal
Email account from www.PowersEnterprise.com.

- Click on the Toolsmenu
- Click on the Options menu item.

- Checkall the check boxes indicated by the red circles.
- Un-Check all the check boxes that do not have the red circles.

"Mail Sending Format" (click on it will put a dot there) (or clicking

are checked.
- Make sure the other boxes are not checked.

- Type in a name for yourself. This name will be the name the receiver
sees in their inbox when they get your emails from you.
For this Outlook Express example, I am typing in the name "Joe

- Set the server to a POP3 server.
- For the Incoming mail server, replace the
"PowersEnterprise.com" with what is behind the "@" in your
email address.
For example, "PowersEnterprise.com" is behind the "@"
in the 'JoeCool@PowersEnterprise.com' email address.
- For the Outgoing mail server, replace the
"PowersEnterprise.com" with what is behind the "@" in your
email address.

- In the Account Name text box, enter your email address.
- In the Password text box, enter your email password.

- Type in a name for this Outlook Express Email Account. This is the name
that you will see when you use Outlook Express to check your email.
I recommend you use your email address and subsitute the "@" with
a dash "-" and some spaces.
- Type in your email address in the Reply address text box.

- Make sure there is a check mark in the box next to Include this
account when receiving mail or synchronizing.

- Click on the Servers tab.
- Type in your email address in the Account Name text
box.
- Type in your password in the Password text box.
- Make sure there is a check mark in the box next to Remember
password .(Clicking on it will put a check mark there if a check mark is
not there)

- Click on the Settings button.

This is for secure emails, if you do not want secure emails, you can skip
this step.
If you want secure emails, secure email accounts are available at
www.PowersEnterprise.com.
- Type in 465 in the text box next to Outgoing mail (SMTP)
.
- Check the boxes next to This server requires a secure
connection (SSL) .There are 2 boxes, check both of those boxes as shown by
the red circles.
- The text box next to Incoming mail (POP3) should have 995
in it.

- Check the box next to Remove from server when deleted from
'Deleted Items'

- Click on the Send/Receive button.
- You should receive your emails now. (That is, if someone sent you an
email.)
If you do not see any errors, then Congradulations! You have correctly
added your email account to Outlook Express!
- If you see a popup box with an Error, then it is possible there needs
to be a few minor changes in your "Properties". Please follow the
instructions in the "Change Properties"
section.

Click on the Servers tab.
We are going to try 5 different variations of setting the Properties in the
Servers . We will try 1 at a time, so please be patience as we might
have to try all 5 variations before your Outlook Express works with your
specific email account.
Variation 1
- In the Account Name text box, remove the part of your email
address after the "@".
In this example, "JoeCool@PowersEnterprise.com" is changed to
"JoeCool".
- Click OK .
- After you click OK, click on the "Send/Receive" button as you did before. If it does
not work, we have 4 more variations to try...

"popmail".
- In the Outgoing mail , change the word "mail" to
"smtp"
- In the Account Name text box, type in your email address.
- Click OK .
